Question How do you know if you have a progesterone problem??

I have read the thread on "progesterone Information" and I was just wondering a couple of things....

........I conceived on Clomid nearly 3 years ago now. I never had periods on my own at that point but I had been taking met and had a slight period and managed to take the clomid that cycle. Anyway, the pregnancy was fine and I remember going for my day 21 test before I discovered I was pregnant and the level being over 35 I think.

Since my son was born I have managed to lose a lot of weight and am now my ideal weight and my periods have returned but my cycles are very long and unpredictable but I think I MAY have ovulated the 3 periods I've had this year. I definitely ovulated the last time as I got pregnant but miscarried.

What I wanted to know was how can I tell if I have a progesterone problem? I am now charting so am hoping to catch an 'O if it happens but I know this is usually very late on in my cycle. Does it matter how late?

If I didn't have a progesterone problem with my son is it likely I still don't? My doctor won't send me for the P4 test because he knows I ovulated because I got pregnant! So I wondered if I could tell myself?

Maybe I just want a reason for the m/c?????

Thanks to anyone who can help.

If you ever have yellow cm it's a good sign of ovulation and your progesterone level- But not a definite sign. Some ppl can tell they have low progesterone by it's side effects.... Here are some examples of that:
Quote:
Swollen breasts
Fibrocystic breasts
Loss of libido
Obesity
Depression
Low thyroid
Facial hair
Hot flashes
Night sweats
Vaginal dryness
Foggy thinking
Memory lapses
Incontinence
Tearful
Depressed
Sleep disturbances
Heart palpitations
Bone loss
Water retention
But the only way to know for sure is to have your p4 level checked 7 days past ovulation. If it's on the lower end of normal, you could use progesterone support starting 3dpo- just in case you get pregnant. It is possible to have a healthy progesterone level in one pregnancy and not in another- every pregnancy is different.
