Just curious to know how people know that they ovulated?? I have read on a few posts and also peoples signatures saying that they "O'd on day 20" etc etc how do you know that?

I have regular cylces ever 32 days but I would have no clue when I acutally O'd or if I even did?? hmmm confused

There are so many ways to tell! Unfortunately some ways that work for some, don't always work for others so you have to kind of try and see which works for you.

OPK's (Ovulation Predictor Kits) sold at the grocery store next to the pregnancy tests, are sticks you pee on that test for an LH surge. You get an LH surge 24-36 hours before you ovulate. These work for a lot of people. Only problem is, it says right on the box that women with PCOS oven have LH surges even when they aren't going to ovulate, so OPK's may or may not work for you.

BBT Charting - Basal Body Thermometer. Also sold near the pregnancy tests in the store. You take your temperature same time every morning before getting out of bed and keep track of it on a site like fertilityfriend.com or on your own. After temperature rises signifigantly (progesterone causes temp to rise) it usually means you ovulated just before your temp rises. For some women temp drops the day of actual ovulation.

p4 test - A simple blood test that can be taken 7 days past ovulation which shows your progesterone level. Over a ten indicates good ovulation. But anything over a 5 shows ovulatory action. Since you have 32 day cycles, you should get your p4 test on cd25 (cycle day). Most women have a 14 day luteal phase, which is the time from ovulation, until start of next period. So if you were ovulating, you'd be ovulating on cd18.

Some women can also feel ovulation pains. If you feel tugging or twinges near your ovaries or in your lower back around cd18, I'd say for you, that very well could be ovulation.

thanks for the responses, I was mainly wanting to know how you could pin point an exact day of ovulation. I thougt that was impossible?

The only ways to pinpoint an exact day of ovulation are all the ways I listed above. Those ways will literally show you the the 24 hour period in which you are ovulating in.
