Please, please help me! I often wonder if senility is not setting in early!!!
I have one med that I have to take 3 times a day and I never remember to take it all 3 times. It is Actosplus met and is used to lower my blood sugar. If I could remember to actually take it I would begin to feel better, but I am such a moron that I cannot even do something as simple as take a pill 3 times a day.
All tips welcome! Thank you in advance!

I had this problem until Saturday, actually. I always forgot to take my meds. I ended up making an alarm notification on my cell phone for twice a day, every day. So now, the alarm goes off and I go grab my pills. It's been working great for me. Actually it's been the only thing that works for me. Otherwise, it slips my mind. I hope you find something that works for you.

I do the same - for when I'm at work, have reminders set on my calendar that pop up when its time to take my pills, and for the weekends, its set on my cell phone!
Hope this idea helps.

I'd never remember without my pill box/organizer. Right now I'm just using one that has a section for each day of the week, but I found some at Amazon.com that have several compartments for each day and built in alarms. When I go back to multiple meds, I'm definitely getting one.

Pill organizers are great! There were days when I couldn't remember if I took my meds or not. Now I just check the compartment! I also used to use my cell phone alarm to remind me to take my pills, but now I have gotten in the habit of taking them with breakfast and dinner. I keep my pill organizer at my computer desk.. where I eat, so I have to stare at it. Usually I don't forget!

i take 16 pills every day and i rarely miss my pills. first of all, i feel better when i take them and that is very motivating. second, i've been taking met for so long that if i don't take it, i can feel my body "needing" it. it's weird but true!
i really recommend bill boxes with different compartments. i have enough boxes to organize two months worth of medications. if i had to open all of those individual pill boxes every time i needed my meds it would drive me crazy. i also like the pill boxes because i am so well-trained to take my pills that i sometimes forget whether or not i really did take them already because i do it so automatically.
third piece of advice, make your pill taking part of your routine. i take my pills after i eat breakfast and before i go to sleep. taking most meds at the same time every day is important as well.
my husband is terrible about taking his pills (he takes met, too!) he tends to be a person who doesn't carry through on things (as his amateur psychologist, i believe he has a fear of failure and if he doesn't try to do things then he won't mess up, low self-esteem, too) anyway -- i truly believe you can learn to take your meds regularly, you just have to make up your mind to do it. your health is important and you need to stand up to yourself and tell yourself that you can and will do things that are good for you!
i teach school and i always tell my students that it's much easier to lie to others than it is to lie to yourself -- because you always know deep down inside what you are really supposed to do and what is right and wrong.
good luck with your pills! i am not trying to lecture, instead i hope it inspires you to make that inner commitment to your OWN health! i bet you'll feel better, too, if you take your meds regularly!
I don't have any other suggestions. I have been doign pretty much the same as the rest of you I bought myself a pill box that has an alarm. You can set up to 4alarms, it's great. Plus i take all my meds and vitamins with a meal that way it's more of a routine. When i sit at the table I get my food, my bottle of water and my pill box. I know i have to finish all three
Hope you work something out! Best wishes.
