If you won you would notice that your points increased, or, when you click on Lottery you could look at the Previous Winners List.
It's best to buy the maximum (5) tickets to increase your odds. Daily lottery costs 500 per ticket, so to buy 5 you would have to have 2500 to play.
Weeekly lottery costs 1000 per ticket.
Keep playing as often as you can because you'll eventually win. I played for the longest and didn't win, and now I have pretty good luck. Then the more points you win, the more you can play and collect more points. I'm not at the point where I can give gifts and also donate points. I'm going to give you 2500 points to go and purchase 5 daily lottery tickets.
