I had terrible acne when I got pregnant. It's calmed down now but it still looks like I've got a zillion pimples from all the scarring on my cheeks.
Any ideas on how to fade the scarring? I got some color on my face the last week of August and that seems to have helped but now that summer is over and winter is coming (read: pale!!) ...

I go to this acne.org website and it has a lot of good info on it. The red marks will fade over time, but there are some things you can do to help it. I know that Acne Free & Neutrogena both have fade masks/creams, but I personally haven't used them so I don't know how well they work. The store micro derm kits are supposed to help fade the marks too because they are so exfoliating. You really want to be exfoliating your skin to help get those dead cells off and encourage new healing.
What I have used and what I am noticing a difference with is lemon juice. It burns/stings a bit, but it really helps to fade the red marks. I just cut a chunk out of a fresh lemon and go over my face where the marks are - I do this at night after I've washed my face.
I know a lot of others also use aloe vera gel/juice to help with healing and redness. Jojoba (pure organic) oil is VERY good for acne prone/scarred skin as it is most like our own sebum so it won't clog pores. It helps keep skin moisturized and really has helped with my scarring. Geranium essential oil is also said to help with scarring.
The best healer is time! I know the more natural products I use and the less I mess with my face, the better it looks. Make sure you are getting enough zinc and vitamin A in your diet or take supps. Zinc and Vitamin A/also Vitamin C help you heal faster as well.

What about something like arnica cream or maybe scar cream? I think they both work by just mobilizing your body's healing abilities to come work harder at the problem.I can't speak for them for fading these kinds of red spots since I haven't tried -- I have always jsut counted on time as well -- but if you're looking for ideas, those are a couple I'd try.
Oh also, you could maybe try IPL laser treatments. Def a pricier option but if you're desperate, it might be able to help.
Merderma, has worked well for me. I had HORRIBLE cystic acne on my cheek area when I was diagnosed, it look like I had mumps on my jaws...lol. If you are consistant with it will fade the scars.

Hydroquinone & Retin A, although I've heard that hydroquinone is only for sun damage (brown spots) and not hyperpigmentation after acne (red marks). Still, it does help some.
Also, chemical peels from a qualified esthetician or dermatologist will help speed the process along.
You didn't get all those red marks in a couple of days, and they're not going to go away when you put something on it for a couple of days.
It takes time (3-6 months is what I've been told, and for me I would guess that's fairly accurate) to get your face back.

I had really bad red marks from years of cystic acne. Fortunately, I got the acne under control (thanks to the long list of meds in my signature). However, the scars were quite bad. I tried several "fade creams" and other remedies. Then I came across this:
This was the BEST thing I have ever discovered. I've honestly used every skin care regimen in the book, and nothing compares to this set from Philosophy. I noticed results within a few days. I've been using it for about 2.5 months now, and my scars have significantly faded!
The stuff is a bit pricey--but a little goes a long way. My bottles are still over 1/2 full.
Porcelena works great! It's lightens scars and evens out discolored skin tones. It worked very good for me. They have nighttime creme and daytime. It costs under $10 too.
