Default How fast did it happen?

About three weeks ago I noticed my hair was thinning. This was about a week after I started taking Clomid. It happened so quickly...literally one day my hair was normal, two days later it was thin. Now it seems like it's just happening rapidly. It's almost half it's thickness...granted I had thick hair before, and now it just looks like thin hair....but in a month?

Does Rogaine work at all? Are there any other topical solutions? I am TTC so I don't know what I can and can't do....

I had a similar situation. My hair thinned dramatically within months. I lost half of it. I'm also ttc. I've been using the lasercomb for four years now. That helped me. It made my hair healthier and it also made it look thicker. It's kind of expensive though.

Default Thank you

Thanks for the reply. I'm kind of....freaking out about this whole thing. It literally happened overnight and it seems like nobody else has experienced this. I don't know if I should even try Rogaine or anything else like that.

It's frustrating when you are going through something like this and nobody seems to understand. It's one of the reasons I found this message board...but sometimes I think people only respond if it's to someone that's been around a while. It's all very....discouraging.

Mlamont79: I am going through the same things and I am freaking out!! It happened so fast!! I've always had the most thick and long hair. As of last week, I took at look in the mirror and noticed something some not right, the part where the bangs are I was seeing through the scalp!! I was bawling this weekend..and have been going nuts researching products online. I am terrified of loosing my hair...:-(... I have been thinking of trying Rogaine, but I am afraid of any secondary side effects. I have read of Nioxin and its generic Nutri-ox sold at Sally's. I think Ill get the starter kit. I also started taking Biotin and well, I have an ppointment with my RE to see what he says. If not, I will find a dermatologist that can hopefully share some light...

Grrrh....so frustrating..

Default Going to the DR.

I'm going to my doctor on Wednesday morning and hoping that he has some good news for me. Also, I was talking to a hairdresser at work today. They sell a shampoo called Nioxin that is kind of expensive, but she says it really works well. It doesn't happen overnight, but it does work.

The best thing about it is that you can use it while TTC, if you are! I guess a certain part of me hopes that he's going to tell me this is all related to stress and the Chlomid. It just doesn't seem natural that it would happen overnight!

I think they sell Nioxin at Ebay and it may be cheaper..but hey if it works..then I will get it too!!

I wanted to get some highlights but I am scared that hair will just come off!!!!!!

Lets see what happens :-)

My hair literally was falling out all the time! My friend even got irritated with me and absolutely insisted I get help because not only did I have a small bald patch but my long hair (it was so very thick and about mid waist long) kept stopping up her vacuum. It is still not the thickness it was but it is better, not sure how I did that though, may have came back after starting on met and bcp's but it was a long time ago.
