Question How to find a doctor?

I realize this has prolly been asked before but how do you find a doctor? I think my doctors an idiot so I've sorta been putting off going and I need to go, I haven't had a period since January. I asked my mom, since I figured she would know, but she said I should just goto the one I already have. If anyone knows of any insurance friendly doctors in or around Northern California (I live in Sonoma County) that would be really nice if you could tell me, cuz I do not know how to find a doctor. Other than Kaiser but my insurance wont work with Kaiser. Anyways Thanks Alot!

Default I have a great doctor!

But, he's in Berkeley (with an office in Pinole), which I'm sure is too far for you.

How about searching your health plan or medical group's website?

I tried searching the web site. It wasn't very helpful, actually it was maddening. Apparently you need to know the name of the doctor you're trying to find or if you want to contact them you can click on the "CLick Here to Contact us" link and it brings you to the "CLick here to contact us" page, which if you click on brings you to the start page with the "Click here to contact us" link. And the only numbers they have listed are for medical emergencies, and one of them is 911. The HORROR of it all! i was thinking about just sucking it up and going to my reg. doctor but...alas I know I'll end up getting blood tests which WILL be lost because every time (which has been more then 10) I get a blood test, it gets lost. It's maddening. BUt thanks, If I don't find a doctor before the end of the month, I may consider going to Pinole.

What kind of insurance do you have? Have you tried visiting your local hospital's website? They tend to have provider listings.

i think i have blue sheild. i'm not quite sure because when HPR um died we had to switch and I haven't been to the doctor in years so I haven't really needed to know what out health plan was. i checked out the sutter website and it says i can use it as a "medicare suppliment", what does that mean?
