Well, considering that I started my wait in April, 2005 as well I'm running out of things to do to...
I've done:
Working on a quilt (& thinking about several more)
Pretty much finished her room
Cross Stitched (about a dozen projects)
Started a business
Ate, ate, & ate some more (I prefer chocolate but don't advise it...)
Had a baby shower
Gone to a bunch of baby showers
Celebrated every holiday & will do some twice during this wait
Read books
Learning about Aimee's country
Working on her Lifebook
I'm sure there is more that I've done during this wait but I can't think right now...
I know waiting is really, really hard. Just try to keep as busy as you can & hopefully your wait will go by faster.

I am so there with you. We are adopting our first baby and today is the FIRST prenatel appt. My circumstances are a little different but I cannot control myself. I think I've planned as far as college already I keep telling all my firends patients is NOT one of my strong traits here. If there is something I want nothing can stop me from getting it. 9 freaking months? 8 months? 7 months? This is torture! If you come up with any ideas on the waiting game please advise ASAP!

I know trust me. I can only go on how she acts and such. It's a very long story but DH is the natural or bio father so we shall see, only time will tell until I hear other wise I'm expecting!!!!

We adopted our baby after a 6 month match so I hear you! My advice is a little different. Instead of baby preparations what I would suggest you do is put 110% of yourself into you and your relationship. Go get manicures and pedicures and your hair done. Send your husband out to do his favorite things as much as possible. Go to the movies together. Take a vacation together. Soak each other up.
On the baby side of things to do I would suggest a couple of things. Go to a baby care class or get a good book like one the the Dr. Sears books and read a few pages with your husband every night. Even though I thought I knew it all it was amazing how much goes out the window when you're holding a screaming totally dependant little bundle of love in your arms after being sleep deprived for days. Also if you aren't in good physical shape you should work your butt off! Try carrying a 10 lb sack of potatoes around all day just to get the "feel" of what it's like. You'd be surprised how 10 lbs start to feel like 50! LOL
I wish I would of made and froze dinners ahead of time. We ended up eating out a LOT and that was NOT a good thing for either of us.
Well I hope that might be of some small help. One thing I think that's important to remember while you're waiting to be matched is that there is a baby meant for you out there. Know and BELIEVE that! It's a wonderful surprise that can happen at any moment so don't waste any time worrying.
Warmly,
Julia http://www.adoptionboard.org
