My last TSH test, the level went down from 6.273 to 2.25. Which is considered normal but I heard that 2 and under is better. This test was taken after 1 month on synthroid. My endo says that if I still feel cold sensitive (which I am but not as bad as before) she is upping my doseage.
I want to know how important is it to get it down to 2? Since being on synthroid AF is more regular and I am Oing.
Some RE's say that when TTC they want to see it between 1 and 2. Mine is actually a bit lower, because I have hashimoto's thyrotoxicosis (rare complication) and they're trying to suppress any natural hormones. Anyhow, when I asked my RE about this he said not to worry, the actual "ideal" range is wider than just one point. At 2.25 you are not far off, so I probably wouldn't worry. But to be safe and since you are still a little cold sensitive, why not up it just a hair? As I'm sitting here with a TSH below 1, I am fffffrrrrreeeeezing, so I hope your cold sensitivity goes away better than mine did!

Conceived twice by IVF/ICSI/AH, one fresh, one frozen
Well I feel best at around .7xx or 1, so it's all individual. If you are still feeling symptoms by all means try an increase in meds, and if after 6-8 weeks you are feeling better, keep it. My RE wants me between 0.50 - 1.5 and I feel best towards the lower range of TSH.

oh crud! good question! I have been on levoxyl for a month now and my first labs came back at 3.3 down from 7 something and my doc said that now that I'm in the normal range he's not going up any higher. but now that I see you have to be like around 2 to conceive- I'm freaked! My doc definelty said no higher cuz to him my hashi's was "mild". I'm not going ttc until next year but I'm getting my body ready to-and this is alarming!!!

Jenbean if you have Hashi's, was your antibody count tested...? If you have very high antibodies but a relatively mild hypo, you are not mild hashi's! and need to be suppressed to cut down the antibodies. 3.3 is not suppressed by any means and most people feel like crap when they get past 2... try finding another doc a good place to start is http://www.thyroid-manager.com/ under 'top docs'.
