How long before met starts working???

I was given met from my gyn who has dx me with PCOS, I have been on it for four weeks and still no AF, I have not AF on my own for 9 years - unless my doc gives me provera. I am on 500 mgs, does he have to up the mgs or do I just wait??? He said met would help me get my AF on my own, but still nothing....what's up??

I would call your Dr. It sounds like you need your dosage increased. I just got my prescription today, but the Dr. said that once I go off the pill we'll work on upping the dosage so that I can get AF on my own. As it is, he prescribed my starting dose to be 500mg twice a day. Definately call your Dr. and talk about upping the dosage.

and I was on 1500mg, so be patient.

I do wonder of 500 is an adequate enough dose, so I'd discuss it with your doctor.

But AF does NOT happen instantly. Our hormones did not get out of whack in a month, and they won't be adjusted that fast either. You should also combine met with a good exercise plan and low to moderate carb diet for even better results.

I am hoping that he ups my dosage and I am looking forward to getting my Af on my own with my low carb and met!
