I didn't take it to get pregnant. I had a Clomid prescription filled, but I never used it. Our plan was to wait until we were "ready" (whatever that means) to try again.
Some women see their hormones become more regular after pregnancy, so be careful with birth control until you ARE ready.

Points: 91,537.82 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 91,537.82 | I hope that it is easy for you to conceive again when you feel the time is right. For a lot of people, even a brief pregnancy lets their body know what to do, and it does happen faster the next time.
I had been on metformin and started low carbing when I conceived the first time. I stayed with that plan, since it was obviously what my body needed. I conceived again in just a couple of months after Mary Catherine came, but I think my grief was too powerful... that little bean didn't last any time at all. A couple of months later, after I had given up hope that I could carry a child, I conceived Duncan and of course went to term that time. It is different for each of us, and I hope your story goes the way that works best for your healing heart.

Points: 3,257.68 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,257.68 | I got pg 2 months after my m/c. I was only told to wait for my first AF before trying again. Dh and I were not actively trying and I was not taking my Met, but we weren't safe b/c i thought if it took so long to get pg the first time, it wouldn't happen after only one month, esp. with no meds.
Although I am very thankful for my boy, I will tell you that I was not emotionally ready to be pg again, and b/c of that I had a difficult time with my pregnancy. I was worried and stressed all the time- which was made even worse by the fact that I bled from 11 weeks to 20 weeks. I was extremely lucky b/c I know that I would not have been able to handle a second loss straight away (I have previously struggled and been medicated for clinical depression and could tell I was headed that way again after my loss.)
When we found out I was pg (at an appt with the doc to go back on BCP) I immediately started Metformin again and continued until 36 weeks (I had stopped taking my Met after finding out about the 1st pg). I delievered my son at just over 37 weeks, and after a short stay in the NICU he is now a helathy 7 mo old boy.

We lost our furst baby in June 2004 @17 weeks, in July I was in an auto accident, in August my 19 yr old cat died. It was a difficult summer. We found out on what should have been Nicole's due date(Nov. 2004) that I was pg again. So that was about 4 months after the first loss. We lost that baby in Feb 2005. I didn't want to get pg again until we knew why this was happening. We waited until all the test came back and AF came on the same day I met with the Perinatologist. I took that as a sign, especially since the Peri diagnosed my problem right away. That was in July of this year, in August we found out I was pg again. We lost that baby too. Her heart stopped somewhere around Sept. 28th and I had a D&C on Oct. 15th.
Tricia, please give yourself time to heal physically and emotionally. you will know when you are ready to try again.

I m/c in August 2004 and am still trying, but I have trouble getting pregnant anyway, so I am not a good one to judge by (My DD took 5 years to conceive, my second that I lost took almost 3 years...and now it has been 1 year and 4 months still trying).
I hope you won't have to wait nearly as long |
