Post How long did it take to diagnose you??

I'm 99.99999% sure I have PCOS but the problem is in a week I go on vacation and really wanted to get put on medication and get everything taken care of before I leave...
I know there are a lot of tests involved so I was wondering how long it took everyone to be diagnosed and get started on their medication?? Same day?? Same week??

Thanks!!

i think a lot depends on your insurance, but it took the re all of 3 seconds to diagnose me when he saw my ovaries on an u/s. you will probably have to have some blood work done before you can go on met, if that is one of the meds you are thinking about.

Default Diagnoses

I was diagnosed back in 2002 in one doctors visit, verified by a later ultrasound.
It was quick, and easy....
The battle begins after that
Good luck!

I never had any signs of pcos until 2002 it hit like a tidal wave. In 2004 I was diagnoised after my doctor ran some tests that involved drawing blood, and taking home a big orange container to urinate in for about 5 days (sorry TMI) and after a week the results were in and I knew for sure.

Was diagnosed by my GYN in March 2009 after noticing a difference 4 months prior. But in October my primary care manager said that I don't have PCOS(without looking at U/Ss, bloodwork, or symptoms). But this is the same doctor that mistook my golf ball sized cyst for my ovary.

I was diagnosed by my GP and it was confirmed a few days later by blood test results.
