How Long Did It Take To Regulate?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001. How long after you stopped the pill did it take for your period to regulate? I've had two periods in a row since I stopped the pill in July. The first was a 28 day cycle, this month it's 35 days.

after stopping bcp, i had no periods for 11 months. zero. zilch. none.

the ob/gyn's office put my on hormones for a couple months and still nothing. i tried acupuncture and got it shortly after that.

for the next year i had periods but not too regularly, usually 6-8 weeks apart. back on bcp now.

I've never had any luck either. Anytime I have stopped bc, I've never gotten a period.

Generally(what my Dr said)if you had a problem prior to BCP you will have the same problem when you go off,it may be slightly worse in the beginning.I took 1 yr to get a period after being on BC for 7 yrs.It took 2 yrs to semi regulate,I got pg,had my son and went back on for 3 yrs.Went off,took 6 mo to get period,hormone situation was pretty good for a yr or 2 then all hell broke loose.Big time PCOS symptoms.Then it took me 1.5 yrs to get pg again.I was the best after my daughter but that lasted about 2 years.Now I am on Yasmin.The older i get (36) the worse the symptoms are and the longer it takes to reverse them.Now I love Yasmin and will remain on it until im dead.

I have normal periods for, at most, three months after going off BCP. And usually at least one of those I don't ovulate, so I'm not sure if that even counts as a period. I've been off my pills a few times to chart my cycles and it's basically hellish. I feel awful, and my cycles are almost immediately weird anyway. I can never wait to get back on the BCP.
