I had a m/c 2 wks ago. My d&c was on 4/9. My hcg at the time of my d&c was 54000. Today it was 96.5. My re said it was dropping fine. How long will it take to get to 0 though? I forgot to ask him. I thought I was 9wks pg, but the baby measure at 6wks 4 days. It must have died 2wks before I found out. Anyone m/c about the same gestational age have any idea how long it took to get to 0?

I am asking because he doesn't want me to try again until I get my next af. He said it won't come until 5-6 wks after I get to 0.

I am sorry about your miscarriage. I found out I miscarried at close to 10 weeks but the baby died at 8 weeks. I had to have a D&C the next day because I wasn't expelling the baby. My Dr. never did betas after the D&C. I had an ultrasound 2 weeks after the D&C and everthing looked fine. I bled for a few weeks. My Dr. put me on BCP 1 day after my D&C. He wanted me to have 2 cycles before we tried again. My first period was very light and I have 2 weeks before I start my 2nd period. I have heard and read so many different things regarding when you can TTC again. If you trust your Dr. then go with what he says. I have a wonderful R/E and I totally trust him.



P.S. My R/E would of let me try after my first cycle but he recomended that we wait 2 cycles. I hope this helps

I am so sorry for your loss. I m/c at 7 weeks and went the natural route. My numbers dropped under 100 pretty quickly but then slowed to an almost crawl after that. It took almost 8 weeks before I got to 2. About the time I got under 10 I had AF. The waiting is the worst!! Hope the time passes quickly for you.

My 2nd m/c basically went the same way yours did. It seemed like my #'s took forever to drop to 0...like 2 months. I remember b/c my RE said that I could come back in 3 months & I did come back in 3 months but he said that I had to wait another 3 months b/c it had only been 2 weeks since my #'s were @ 0. With my 3rd m/c, it didn't take long at all for my #'s to drop. I m/c'd naturally & as soon as my #'s started to fall (which they were in the 30,000's) & I was told the 2nd day that there was basically no hope, I started bleeding the next day & w/in 2 weeks my #'s were back to 0. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope your #'s drop faster than mine did.
