How long did you wait? - Page 2

We were TTC for 14 months before considering intervention. I would get my period randomly throughout the year and we thought if we could just catch one of those ovulations we have a chance. Well about 6 months in I stopped getting af all together. This has happened before but its really annoying while TTC. I went 8 months without af and finally decided we needed to see a doctor. We were diagnosed with PCOs and MFI and so we were told there was no way to get pg on our own. We were getting ready for clomid and IUI when I naturally got pg.

For normal couples I believe the doctors recommend 1 year of TTC but for ladies with PCOs we know its not as easy so I would suggest going in around the 6 month mark to start getting the ball rolling.

Went off the pill in Nov '08; saw my OBGYN after I hadn't had a period by Jan '09; first clomid in March '09.

Thanks ladies. I do feel better about rushing thing along now. Since I've been off the pill in May, I've only had AF 3 times and right now I'm on day 56 of my current cycle and on day 7 of Provera. I just don't want to wait too long and then find out that IVF is the only way for us to go.

It's totally smart to not wait any longer. You need to do what's best for your body when TTC. And if that means taking fertility medication, that's what you do! My DH's side of the family struggled with OBGYN's decision to send me to an RE. But they realize now that it's the only way to get my body in check so that it can have a "normal" cycle. How many days of Provera do you have to take?

We had been TTC for 20 months before we saw a doctor about it. I saw her in June and was diagnosed PCOS in August and put on Met and clomid at the end of August/beginning of september. My doctor did not want to wait to get me ovulating so she put me on clomid right away. I am also 35 years old.

I am taking 10 days of Provera so I have 3 more doses to take. I took progesterone to induce my cycles about 8 years ago but since then I was on BCP up until May so I've been pleasantly oblivious to most PCOS symptoms being on the BCP. Since May I've had all kinds of fun things pop back up. The hair growth, acne, weight gain etc. I've got to get this under control.

I did not even know what PCOS was until I was diagnosed in August. Since being on Met the past few months I have lost 10 pounds, my hair growth has slowed/thinned and my acne is gone. You can no longer play connect the dots on my face I had more acne than a lot of the junior high kids I worked with.
