My Mood: Points: 18,017.56 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 18,017.56 | How long do the blood test results take to come back from the RE? I asked DH to find out and he did not, they just said they would call. And I know they will,so I don't want to stalk them, but does anyone have any idea when the results will be finished?
I think he got the standard testing, hormones, STDS, an S/A and for sure the test for Tay Sachs.
Thanks,
I am trying to hide my obsessive side from the RE as long as possible. Like La la la , what tests? Oh right, sure I would like the results instead of ARE THE RESULTS BACK YET??? |

My understanding is that if you test negative for Tay Sachs, your DH doesn't need to be tested, because both parents have to be carriers to pass it on. I could be wrong, though. The S/A is done right away, so that should be available within 24 hours.

It took a week for us to get DH's s/a back because it was sent somewhere. All of my blood tests were back the same day though. I would have to have a draw in the am and it was always a stat order. I usually knew the results by 3pm. I didn't have genetic testing done though, so I don't know how long that would take. I would give them a couple days before calling, unless it is very time sensitive to your cycle. I know that is easier said than done though!

There are a lot of changes that happen extremely quickly, as the sperm get weaker and slower, so I wonder how that works. Anyway, waiting sucks! I hope you get your results Tuesday.

The way it sounded, they did some of the testing on site, but had some sort of analysis done elsewhere. Very strange, but nevertheless it took a week. The second s/a we did was the day of IUI & they only tested critical morphology. We got those results the same day.
