Question How long does it take?

Hi, I just found out last weekend that I was pregnant, but we discovered this week that it is not a viable pregnancy and that we are going to lose it. I'm just wondering how long it will take for it to be over? I haven't started bleeding yet and would just like it to be done with. I don't feel I can talk to my doctor about this anymore, because I feel like they have been so insensitive about the whole thing, like I shouldn't be sad since I was only barely pregnant (just over four weeks if I calculated right). Anyway, is there anything I can do to speed it up or is it something that I will just have to wait on and let happen in it's own time? Thanks for any insight.

((((hugs Ellie))))

I’m sorry to hear about your m/c. I really depends on your body on how long it will take. My first two were spontaneous m/c’s so I lost the baby and then started bleeding. My last one was a twin pg. I lost one on 10/23 and the other tried to hold on but I found out three weeks later that it was gone. I didn’t actually pass the second one until 12/8 with the help of a drug called cytotec. There aren’t a lot of drs that will prescribe cytotec to help women m/c naturally but I’m so glad mine did. Most drs are quick to do a d&c and I really wanted to avoid it. I highly recommend it if you really want to get things going and don’t want to have a d&c. I hope you don’t have to wait much longer. I know how awful the waiting is.

((((more hugs))))

Thank you, Stephanie. I will talk with my doctor and see how cooperative she is. I would like to avoid a D&C, so I will ask about cytotec. I appreciate your help.

Default I'm so sad to see you here too

Oh, sweetie. I haven't heard from you in a while, and I had no idea that you were even pg. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. This is a really hard time and I hope that you can pull through all of the heart ache that you are feeling. I left you a message on the Cycle Buddies CD1 01/29 (or thereabouts) thread and just realized that you hadn't been there in a while, so I didn't know if you would check it or not.

I'm not sure if you knew, but I lost my pg also. We went for our first u/s at 9 weeks and found that the baby's heart wasn't beating. The ob-gyn said that it had passed away about 2 weeks prior to that.

I opted for a d&c. I figured that would be the easier thing for me. I don't think that I could have handled lossing it at home.

Right now I am anxiously waiting for my hcg to get back to 0. It was at 54,000 the day we found out. On the 19th is was at 96.5. I had more b/w on Thursaday and haven't got the results back yet.

Either way I am ready to be pg. again. I am back with my re and as soon as I get af he is going to up my clomid to 100mg and do a u/s on cd 13 to check for follies.

If you are looking for a very supportive thread, join us over at ttc after a loss. Also Tonia, Chantal, and I are still, occassionally keeping up with the Cycle Buddies CD1 01/29 (or thereabouts) thread. Stop in and see us soon.

My first loss was very similar to yours. The nurse I work closely with said it takes a couple of days after the hcg levels start to decline for the bleeding to begin. My bleeding was similar to a heavy period.
I'm so thankful for the nurse and doctor I work with, because they understand that even when it is early, there is a huge loss. I wish you lots of healing and hope during these next few months.
Ber

Thank you, Ber and Clarissa. I am so sorry about your losses and I appreciate your replies. I guess the hardest part of all of this is that I have felt so alone. DH is dealing with it in his own way (he's hurting and has been withdrawn), and everyone else around me seems to think I should be over it by now. At least I know that you guys understand what it's like. Thank you so much for the support. I think I will check out the TTC after a loss thread when I'm ready to get back on board.

(((((((HUGS))))))) to you both.
