I had never heard of pcos until a week ago last monday at my annual gyn appt. I was complaining about skipped periods for months at a time, acne, weight gain for no reason even with serious reduced caloric intake.
She asked if I had ever heard of pcos and explained what it was.
I am on Met started at 500mg a week then increase each week up to 2000mg/day. From what I am reading this is pretty standard. We already have a 21 month old and always planned on another, but for now I started BC (YAZ). I never had a regular period and they always fixed it with BC pills since I was around 12.
I had my bloodwork done, for the same tests as I am reading with everyone else, on Wednesday. I had to fast for 10-12 hours, but my dr never said anything about that, the lab where I had the bloodwork done said I couldnt have it done unless I fasted. Anyway how long does it take to get results?
Hello Marlo,
I am not sure how long it will take to get your test results....I would have to suggest that it varies from place to place.
I just want to Welcome you to SC and tell you that you will love it here.
These gals are the best!
Good Luck with everything!
I think it's pretty standard for bloodwork to take about a week. I'm glad you're not lurking anymore... this is a great group of ladies and I know you'll find a lot of support, encouragement and knowledge here! Welcome!

My lab results are usually in within a week. Having said that, my doc knows what a worrier I am so I often talk with him as soon as he gets the results. So sometimes it's only a couple days for me. (Yes I have a really good doc )
Best wishes cyster,
Hugs
Jenny
