Question How long does it usually take to get pregnant while on Met?

I've been taking Met since Jan. and I was wondering how long does it usually take to get pregnant on Met? I was taking Provera to jump start my periods and I had one in Feb. but nothing since then. Does Met help you have a period? I'm still kind of new with this Met and PCOS stuff... Thanks for listening girls.

Hey!

I think it differs for everyone. Some people get pg very quickly, and some never do while taking only Met. I was one of the lucky ones - twice. I started Met (1500mg) on September 03, 2003 and I got my positive HPT on the 29th of September. That was after 5+ years of inactively TTC (no b/c, but no outside intervention either). My DD was born on May 23, 2004. I went back on Met (I had stopped taking it during my second and third trimesters) when she was a month old, and the next month I found myself pg with DS! He was born on May 17, 2005 - 359 days after DD. Since then I've been back on Met and had fairly regular AF's. It was coming every 30 - 32 days, but a few months ago my cycle started getting longer again (every 40 - 44 days). I upped my Met to 2000mg, and last month my cycle was back to 32 days. Without Met, my cycle is crazy-long, sometimes 90 - 100 days.

Met is absolutely my miracle med! Good luck to you!

right now I'm taking 1500 mg daily. Does Met bring on AF? or does it help you ovulate? I'm totally confused, my doctor really didn't explain Met to me, just provera, so I'm lost as a a goose. Thanks for answering me.

Hi, I started taking met this January as well, the effect on me was real different than my sister. My sister lost a lot of weight, me on the other hand I am the same. But I upgraded my pills because I am so anxious to get pregnant, I take four pills of 500 mg, one for breakfast, one for lunch, and two before dinner. Maybe if you upgrade it will help, but I must say I do get regular periods and my sister takes provera, nothing has yet to be achieved for either of us. Good luck and I wish you the best as well.

I am hoping Met will help me get pregnant as well. I've been taking it since Feb 10. Still no period but I don't really feel like I'm PG either. I'm exercising regularly and just started watching my carbs and sugar so hopefully that will help. Good luck to everyone!
