Hello I am currently TTC and have hypothyroid. TSH was 9 which is sluggish and it went down to a 4. I increased my doseage from 50mgc to 100 mcg. Now my thyroid is going into hyperthyroid which is .04. I am so annoyed. The doctor told me to stop taking it until I see her in 3 weeks. I have read the 2.0 is ideal for TTC. Will I ever get PG if it is out of whack like this? How long did it take you all to get it under control?

It took five years to get mine in order. I saw many doctors and 2 endos, finally a NP knew there was a dosage in between. If I remember correctly there is someone here who is taking 75mcg of synthroid. That may be worth looking into. I hope you are able to get it in control soon.

Well you doubled your dose! It makes sense that it could be too much for you.. the dr. should have raised it another 25mcg instead of 50mcg... Don't let your dr. tell you that you don't need thyroid medicine because of this... she was giving you too much! duh... of course you were going to go hyper.
It takes a while to get things managed. When we started, my dr. told me a year before I would be in a good position to be ttc. So far I have been trying and no result and it hasn't been a year yet, so so far she's right. I went up and down too on meds and now I need to go back up.
My dr. (RE) wants my tsh 0.50-1.5 for optimum TTC. My TSH wanders despite what meds I'm on so nobody can really tell what med dose I'm supposed to be on... sometimes I'm hyper and sometimes I'm hypo... it's that darn hashimoto's I know it is.. even though no one has tested my antibodies that's the only rational explanation!! in hashimoto's it is autoimmune so your body is constantly trying to kill the thyroid which causes it to go whacky. Ugh... until it finally dies out you're pretty much trashed on finding the right dose of meds... I hope that's not the case for you!

Hello,
Thank you guys for answering my post. I just had my thyroid tested again . I had lowered my dose to 50mcg for 2 weeks like she said and now it is still low so she told me to stop for 2 weeks. This annoys me because I am TTC and on injections so with my thyroid all messed up I am nervous. But it should be ok. Mabey I should take 25mcg in the meantime. I am not sure . I am afraid to self medicate anymore.
