My D&C has been scheduled for this week. I had been hoping to miscarry naturally, but it's been two weeks, and nothing is happening. HCG levels even went up slightly. Go figure.
Anyway, how long does it take to recover? How much time should I plan to miss from work?
Thanks for any help!!!
Katia

I missed the day of and the day after. I was still in pain but my boss complained b/c I took the day of surgery off so I didn't have a choice but to go back. You will definately need time to grieve and heal though.

My D&C was on a Thursday. I took that and Friday off. Then I had the weekend to recover as well. Physically I was pretty much fine by Saturday- still cramping and bleeding but nothing unbearable. Emotionally, I still wasn't ready to see people the following Monday. Many hugs and much love. We also waited to m/c naturally for about 3 wks before the D&C was scheduled. Take as much time as you need to grieve and know we are here if you wish to talk...
I don't work, but I'd say that after about 2 days I physically felt fine. TO be honest, the only thing that really bothered me was my throat. IT was sore from the breathing tube being put it. Make sure you are mentally ready too. If people there knew you were pregnant it can be a tough situation to walk into. Some will be very sweet, some will say things that might make you sad, and some will avoid contact with you because they don't know what to say. Hang in there. God Bless.

I took 4 days off plus the weekend to have time away from work. BUT what got me what I was upset, depressed and all. What finally got me was that I had to let 3 balloons go to get back to myself. I hated being depressed...and it did not help being upset with dh either. So I would take as much time off as you can.
