Unhappy How long should pain last?

Hi there

Im posting here because Im very concerned about my fiancee.

She has PCOS now for a few years, and on Friday of last week she began to feel pains in her ovary. She went to see her doctor (apparently) who says a cyst on her ovary has burst but its OK and to take some pain killers.

It's now going into the early hours of Wednesday morning and she's in the worst pain yet. It hasn't let up at all....

She hates hospitals as her dad recently died of cancer, but I cant feel she's not telling me something or there's more to it because she doesn't want to go to hospital.

How long should the pain last after an ovarian cyst bursts, and in your experience should she go to the hospital or stick it out for another few days?

Very concerned :-(

If the pain is worse now than it was last Friday, I'd insist that she go see her Dr to make sure that she doesn't have any complications or an infection. Since she is afraid maybe you should go with her to make sure she gets help.

I have had what was called torsion cysts that twisted my ovary and caused severe pain, shortly after they burst I felt much better. My sister lost an ovary to the same thing - she almost died from it because her Dr was an idiot. We actually had the same Dr.

I am not saying that that is what your fiancee is suffering from, it could be other things but she should get checked out to see what is going on!

I hope she is feeling better by now, if not I hope she is seeking medical help!

Best of luck!
