How long it takes to ovulate after trigger shot - Ovidrel
Hey gals,
Today is my cd 21. I had 16mm follie on my right ovary on 19th day ultrasound.I took clomid 50mg 3-7th day. I took Ovidrel shot this morning at 10.00 am. Now my question is how long it takes to ovulate after taking trigger shot - Ovidrel? What about BD?
BD tonight, and tomorrow - I think they say it takes 36 hours after the shot to ovulate. They do my IUIs 24 hours after the shot, I guess so the sperm are there to meet the egg as it is released.

Thanks for reply. I am thinking of BD'ing tonight and tomrrow night which comes out to be 12hrs and 36hrs respectively after trigger shot today at 10 pm.
My RE says it takes on average about 40 hours, but for some reason I tend to ovulate a bit later, so I'd BD at least every day for the next 4 days just to be safe.
My doc says 34-36 hours but the sperm can live inside you for a while so you want them to be there when the egg is released.

that should work. If you had your shot at 10am today you should be Ovulating at 10pm tomorrow. Try to get in tomorrow's bd in before 10pm.

Hope4: My RE said anywhere from 24-48 hours...so enjoy your weekend!
Can I ask a quick question without coming off like a total baby....isn't the trigger shot needle huge??? I just got all of my drugs delivered yesterday (starting injections) and I was fine until I came across the trigger needle. Any suggestions on triggering, I am a little ways off but I have a needle phobia so I have already freaked myself out!

My trigger shot needle was pretty small, but I'm not on injectibles, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It didn't hurt at all.

I also have big phobia of needles and injections,as soon as I see them, tears come out from eyes. But this Ovidrel shot was piece of cake. My hubby gave it to me. I kept my eyes closed and dint realise anything.
I am not sure about injectibles. I just took 1 ovidrel shot today. All the best.
My RE says that Ovidrel usually works within 24-36 hours. I triggered last night at 9, as per doctor's instructions and have an IUI in the morning. So...as far as the needle, it really isn't very bad. It's about an inch long, which is actually small, from my understanding about the non-pen-like injectables. I give myself the Ovidrel shot in my thigh. That's where my doctor prefers I stick that needle. It's really not that bad, and I don't like needles.
