I didn't really notice. It wasn't until I came off BCP and had decreased appetite and my doctor pointed out that it was likely the BCP ---> increase appetite ---> increased eating ---> weight gain. There were waaaaaay to many other factors to be sure though. I'm the type of person that when I start something new, I start all at the same time. When I came off Metformin I also started a new way of eating and when I came off BCP I was also starting a new level of intensity with my exercise.

Almost finished BCom (Economics)
I've only been on BCPs for a month, but I just came back home from school and my parents always have dessert and whatnot so I doubt it's a fair judge.. I need to start hitting the elliptical!
I always notice weight changes after 2-3 months. With Yasmin, everybody could see I had lost weight very quickly. Now I am on Cilest/Ortho-Cyclen and I am sure I have lost some weight. Not all pills have that affect on me though! Perhaps the worst were Diane 35 and a mini-pill, Cerazette.... I think I am very sensitive to progestogens. xx
I took Yaz for two months - trying to regulate to TTC. I didn't move on the scale whatsoever...not even the slightest. I have NO difference in appetite and nothing changed that way for me.
I thought Yaz was not supposed to really make you do anything. If anything, I think it's a diuretic, so you MAY lose a little water weight, but that'd be it...if I'm thinking correctly.

Yes, Drosperinone, the progestogen in Yaz and Yasmin, does have a diuretic effect, so many women find they lose a few pounds of water weight, and feel less bloated. I know it had that affect on me.
I used to take it night but switched to the morning, as that diuretic effect caused a few disturbances to my sleep! :-)
One thing I didn't like about Yasmin was that my boobs shrank so much - due to the effect mentioned...I went down 2 sizes! Better for my back, but a bit of a shock!
