Is my understanding correct that low waking temperatures are a symptom of hypothyroidism? Or is it low average daily temps instead of waking temps that are low?
I haven't taken my daily temp enough times to know yet what my average daily temp is, but during the first part of my cycle this month, my
waking temps averaged around 97.6. Is that about normal or is that low?
And once you start thyroid treatment, how long does it take for your body temps to rise and stabilize?
This is my first month charting my BBT and my first month on thyroid treatment...so I'm wondering if my recent rise in temps is due to
ovulation or because of my thyroid treatment. I've been on Levoxyl 50mcgs for almost 3 weeks now.
Even though my thyroid is regulated my temps never changed from before I started medicaiton. 97.6 doesn't sound that abnormal to me, but then again my pre-O range is 96.9 to 97.3 and post-O is 97.6-98.2. Did you have other signs of O, like EWCM or a + OPK? If so, I'de say it is due to O.
No other signs really...except I was bloated for several days before that day and the bloating went away...and my CM was wet/watery that day. Now I'm on day 30 and have some light spotting that started yesterday evening. If it's my period I wish it would just hurry up and start so I knew. I can't figure out what the heck my body is doing
Rainbow, I was told recently that I may be hypothyroid (my last test in September was 4.8, whatever that means). I am not currently taking any meds, waiting for the #'s from a repeat test that was taken yesterday to come in before I am referred to an endocrinologist.
If you look at my chart (click on my ticker below) most of my waking temps at at the 97.0 line or below, most are in the 96's. I think 97.6 is pretty normal.
Good luck with your thyroid treatment! If your TSH is at 4.8, I definitely think you need it. In case the endo you go to is a moron (like mine), here's something you may want to print out and take to him/her:
