Question How long are your periods on Provera?

Hello Everyone. I'm a newcomer to the Cysterhood and was just diagnosed with PCOS last month. I've just sort of been lurking for the last couple of weeks, but I'm so glad that I found this site.

My doctor prescribed Provera 10 mg for me to take for 10 days starting on the 25th of each month. I finished my last pill of the first round of it on June 3rd. My period started last Thursday and hasn't stopped yet. I'm on day 8 of my period right now. Before my irregular period issues, I usually had my period for 5 to 7 days, so 8 days doesn't really bother me. And it does seem to be getting lighter, so it'll probably stop in the next day or two. I was just wondering if it's normal for periods to be longer on Provera? How long do yours usually last if you take Provera?

I just took Provera for the first time this cycle (starting last month) and my period lasted 7 days. When I was on bcp's my periods only lasted about 4 days. The 7 days wasn't too bad because the last 2-3 days were very very light. Sounds like yours is just about done.

Thank you! It looks like mine will be finishing up shortly. I hope it isn't this long every month.

I took it for the first time last month after no real AF (only spotting) this year. Mine was only 5 days.

The longer it's been, the longer my period lasts. If I've had a regular period recently, they tend to be about 5 days long with provera. HTH.

I haven't had AF for 9 months now, nearly 10 months.
How long do you think mine would last on Provera.
Could I just also ask, if you ask your gynae for it, will they give it to you? Or could they say no?
I really wanna use Provera but I'm worried that my gynae might not go for it.
