I go back in 4-6 weeks to have my levels checked. What have been everyones experiances on it? The only thing I don't like about it, is that it stinks!

My Mood: Points: 21,623.66 Bank: 309,872.93 Total Points: 331,496.59 | Last week my TSH was 2.81. He didn 't even check my T 3 and 4, even though I asked them too. I am on 1/2 a grain. I was on Levoxyl before. I am excited about the Armour because it has the T3 in it and I am hoping it will help me lose weight. I have been working out like a mad woman and I am losing so slowly.
My insulin number are great. I went from fasting insulin of 28.9 to 8.2. I was wondering if you knew if a out of whack thyroid could cause you to have high DHEA levels. Mine were like 932 about a month ago, now they are 620 or so. I guess normal is around 200 or so. My doctor doesn't think it is a big deal, but has tested me for cushings though.

I am on 1700 mg of gluc, which has helped a ton. I have been doing a ton of cardio and I am eating NO sugar or anything processed at all. I also have dropped about 40lbs after I was diagnosed. It has taken me 3 years to drop it though.

I don't drink anything with artifical sweetner in it. I do have 2 cups of coffee every morning though. I do notice that whenever I eat anything with sugar in it, I bloat up and feel terrible. I had some sugar yesterday and I feel like crap today. I have the worst gas and my tummy is bloated.
I do feel really good most of the time though. I just want to some more of this weight.
What dose of gluc do they have you on? Have you ever tried South Beach diet or the IR diet?? I know that alot of people have had a lot of success on it. I love the SB diet.

oooooooooh yes...i do low carb. i think though, that my failure lately to lose any weight is due to the fact that i am not eating sugar, but doing alot of diet coke and fake sweetners... i think our body thinks its real sugar and gives and insulin rush..then i get hypoglycemic and overeat to feel better again.
do you put anything in the coffee??? black coffee me sounds horrible!!!
i pretty much eat eggs/bacon/wheat toast with decaf sweetnlow in the morning... salads with chicken and cheese for lunch..zone bars or cashews for lunches...
it gets pretty boring though i have to admit.
as far as your thyroid goes.. i wish you can find a doc who tests the t3 and t4..its soooo very important!!!
are you sure you are getting enough thyroid in comparison to the levoxyl you were on before? xo jenn

I was on 50 mcg of levoxyl and I went to the conversion chart and it said that I needed 1/2 grain. I told my doc and he said that was right.
My doctor told me that I needed to save my money and not test for the T 3 and 4. He said that the TSH will give us the whole picture. I think he is ignorant!!
P.S I used to have a huge diet coke habit. I still crave it sometimes. Hmmmm

We have insurance that pays for most of it. I am going to see what my numbers are in a few weeks. I actually feel really good, I just need to get this extra weight off.
The doctor that I see is an Ob/gyn. I think I need to go to an endo, but they are like an hour away.

I think it stinks too!
I can't tell if it has done much for me... I took one grain for a few months and just about two weeks ago switched to two grains... it has made my temps get somewhat warmer and I actually feel cold easier but otherwise I am not sure!
No negative side effects to report however!
