My first two pregnancies I conceived with clomid. DS#1 six cycles total (three to find the right dosage, three to time things right). DS#2 three cycles total (two to find the right dosage, one to time things right). For both the magic dose for me was 150 mg.
This time my new doctor used femara, otherwise I would have used clomid again.

Met (1500 mg) and Clomid (50 mg days 3-7) worked for me on the second round. On the first round it made me ovulate but didn't get me pregnant. Clomid can get a bad rap but it works for a lot of us. Good luck!

For DD #1 it took one round of 50mg CD 5-9 and 1500mg of Met. I then went on to have a suprise pg with this one when DD was 8 months old.

200mgs + iui was what worked for me. First 2 rounds on 50 and 100mgs didn't ovulate, ovulated on 150 so-so and well on 200. Good luck!

For both of my pregnancies, I conceived on the second cycle of clomid at 100mg each time. The only difference was that with DS, I took clomid CD 5-9 and with my current pregnancy I took it CD 3-7.

Conceived on the second round. First round at 50mg then 100mg in the second. Also did IUI and HCG injection - 3 potential follicles... one took and that's all we needed!
Also, tried Femara for about 9 months before switching docs and starting Clomid, may work for some, but not for me.
I got pg on my 5th cycle of clomid, 50mg taken on cd 5-9. I was also taking up to 2000mg met daily at the time. That bfp was Jan 09, sadly we m/c'd at about 8.5 wks..
We started back on clomid in April 09 I think, 50mg clomid again on cd 5-9 along with 2000mg met again. i didn't ovulate that cycle - every other cycle I had o'd, so I was very bummed. In May, they upped me to 100mg clomid on cd 5-9 along with 2000mg met, and we got our 2nd bfp!! So we really had two consecutive cycles where we got pg. so I guess it took my body about 6 months to get pg on clomid (I started on clomid in Aug 08), and we are due on 11th Feb '10.
