Hello! I had about 40 on one ovary and the other had some many that it died and became the size of a raisin. I have since had a hysterectomy because of some many and severe endometreosis and fibroids.
I just had an ultrasound and doc said no cysts at this time. My ovaries are lined with the string of pearl effect that is consistant with PCOS. Many follicles formed and nothing else.

I had an u/s today and the while my RE was looking at my right ovary he told the nurse to write "many, many, many on the right" in my chart. I had two decent follies on my left though.

I have the typical string of pearls thing going on too. But I don't think my gyno even bothered to try to count my cysts. when i had my first scan she suddenly said "WOW!! You're ovaries are HUGE!" She just mesured the size of my ovaries - they were both over 50mm in diamater. They're supposed to be around 35mm. Anyway, my left ovary is cyst free now and my right ovary is a lot smaller, but it's still got a few cysts left. I'm on meds for that, and then i'm going to an endo this week. for a more long-term approach. Wish me luck!!

Possible/probable ir, but i haven't gone back to endo yet because i'm trying to do this w/o meds.

If you're not living on the edge then you're taking up too much space.

Two - one on each ovary (very feng shui of me!!). One is a watcher, one was caused by excessive hormones by OB/GYN gave me before diagnosis of PCOS. Past US showed multiple cysts. Can they fluctuate?
If I understand all this correctly, they can either be absorbed back in by the body or rupture. The ones that rupture cause the mass pain because it's toxins have to be absorbed by your body.
