My Mood: Points: 22,975.10 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 22,975.10 | how many PCOS'ers had abnormal birth weight? I was reading a thread that mentioned birth weight being a factor in possibly contracting diabetes later in life.
That led me to wonder how cysters measure up in that department. How many of us had either a very low, low, normal or chubby baby birth weights? Does it relate to us having PCOS? Does our birth weight relate to the severity of our symptoms?
I don't have any of the answers to the above questions, but i am curious if there could be co-relations to birth weight. |

They were going to induce labor, but when they did a stress test on my mom they said my heart was not strong enough. When I did come, I was still born. My mom calls me her miracle baby b/c they were able to revive me. But by 2mts old, I had double bronchial pneumonia. We always wondered if my problems when I was a baby had anything to do with my problems now.

My Mood: Points: 13,561.29 Bank: 32,302.75 Total Points: 45,864.05 | Well I was born @ 38w weighing in at 5lb 6oz ... so on the higher side of a low birth weight.
My brother was born @ 30w 2d (approx) and weighed in at 4lbs 8oz (I think, I know it's 4lbs for sure) ... he was kept in the hospital NICU for one month before he was released. Definitely a very low birth weight. |

Points: 4,358.10 Bank: 2,436.60 Total Points: 6,794.70 | I was normal, around 7 pounds somewhere. But I was a wee bit late (can't remember how much now, I think only two weeks) and my mother had Gestational Diabetes while pregnant with me, just as she had with all of my other siblings. She's now a TypeII Diabetic. I was her smallest baby, but that might have had something to do with the fact that she was 39 and that we were RH incompatible and she wasn't given a shot (if they even had them in '73!) despite having had at least one m/c where the baby's bloodtype was unknown. I nearly died of anemia due to that, but here I am
But that gestational diabetes screwed us all. My sister is a Type I Diabetic, my brother suffers horrible hypoglycemic episodes and needs to be tested, and my oldest brother is HUGE and refuses to be tested for Diabetes or IR I was found IR at 19.
