Wink How many times do i have to change BCP???

I have had PCOS for many years now, and it makes soooo miserable. So i have came to this forums many, many times. I have problems with hairloss and acne and im am so fed up i just want to hide from the world. Doctors can only do so much, it seems like they don't really want to deal with you. I have to always find the answers on my own, and it always seem to be trial and error. I have taken many BCP and it seems like they work for a while and then the disease starts fight back , and gets progressivley worse with avengence. It seemed as if Demulan 50 worked the best. But all i wanted to do was eat, from the high estrogen. Then they changed that pill to ZOVIA 50) and it all went down hill from there. SO.....i don't know if it was from taking generic BC or my IR was coming back. THen my doctor put me on progestrone cream, and it doesn't seem to be working. I don't know if it is from the lack of estrogen i use to be getting or if the progestrone is turning into male hormone. I know the say that woman with PCOS are estrogen dominant, but i think i lack both. I always feel great on this estrogen dominant pills. So i guess my question is, I would like to know what BCP works the best for you ladies or if any one can shed some light on this, that would make my year. Thankyou for your time for anyone who responds to this.

For my particular issues, Seasonale worked best (less nightmarish AF to deal with and no BTB).

Good luck!

Ortho's sucked majorly for most women I've known. I mean, I stress heavily that this is based solely on my own experiences--that is to say, I'm sure Ortho pills work beautifully for many women out there, just virtually none of the ones I've encountered. Yasmin generally seems to be a safe bet. It's what I'm on now.

As far as progesterone cream goes... doctors who tried to pawn it off on me always prescribed ridiculously low dosages of it and it never put a dent in any of my hormonal problems. That might be why you feel like it's not doing anything, probably because it's not.
