Mine seems to have grown much longer over the past couple of years. I am lucky and mine is so fair it is almost invisible so it doesnt worry me, but I have noticed the change in length.

I waxed my chin/neck a few times with zero sucess .. it just hurt like heck! I am not good at things like that. I guess I should go have it Prof waxed .. its gotta to me cheaper than laser!!! not a effective in the long run of course. I think it was $250 per session for my arms... maybe more?
I was gonna also try that magic powder everyone was talking about on another thread.... similar to Nair minus the buring etc.
does anyone know if this is PCOS related or just bad luck/genes.... like PCOS ! ha!
I wax my chin/neck. It doesn't always take all the hairs but i also pluck. I think your problem was that it wasn't long enough or you didn't apply the wax in the right direction (downward). Laser didn't work for me; in fact it made it worse. I tried 6 laser treatments on my face and it aggravated it; my doctor told me that i didn't need medication and that i could go for laser with zero worries...i had a few dark hairs on my chin but now its way more because of the laser...i think the laser helped on my cheeks though...thats about it. I think I'm going to ask my doctor to put me on spiro for my hirsutism...I'm just scared to take medication and what not because I'm only 14. If I do go on it I'm hoping it'll make the hair go away and I can maintain the hairlessness after i get off of it eventually, but thats hoping for too much i suppose. Before I try laser again I want to try medication. I think I want to try the natural way (vitamins, herbs, diet, etc.) first...
I have some on my upper arms as well...it looked odd when I just waxed my lower arms...plus they came back with a prickly feeling (people ask if I shave them...)
I don't have a problem with really hairy arms...it's actually pretty thin, but it's DARK! I'm pretty fair haired naturally with dirty blonde/light brown hair. But my arm hair is black and it makes it stick out a lot more.
I have dark long hair (had) on my forearms since JR. High ... I honestly never thought much of it but I found out later in life that most of my friends noticed it. I have the typical chin hair ... lots .... plus sideburns, stomach etc .....
Is this PCOS related? I thougth I read somewhere it was NOT ... so i am curious how many of you cysters have this problem
I have moustache and beard growth heavy enough to require shaving every day. My legs are hairier than most males' legs. Yet strangely, my arms aren't hairy at all. I guess it just goes to show how variable hair growth patterns can be.
my arm hair was always pretty normal until i started to develop rapid hirsuitism in the last year or so. how i have been dealing with it is a combination of trimming and bleaching... because i don't want to have completely hairless arms (it looks unnatural to me and i still remember being really weirded out when finding out a friend in middle school shaved her arms) but i don't want to look like sasquatch either. it's actually really easy to keep up with and i can wear short sleeves without thinking twice. i bleach with the sally hansen bleach maybe about once a month or so-- i don't leave it on the entire time so that it just lightens the hairs and doesn't turn them completely blonde (it is actually more noticable when they are very blonde because they shimmer in the light). then i go over them every few weeks with a beard trimmer that i bought to keep my body hair in check. it has variable length settings so i can trim them to a normal length... works well "down there" too
the bleach has never irritated my skin. sometimes when it is on it itches/burns and is pretty uncomfortable but any redness goes away in 10 minutes or so... it doesn't actually do any harm at all, and my skin is pretty sensitive. i think this is a great solution to arm hair.

I have been battling with my hair growth since middle school and it's something I deal with every single day. Honestly, I fantasize about the day when I will earn enough money to PERMANENTLY lazer all my unwanted hair. Fortunately, my health insurance cards are supposed to come in the mail soon and when they do I already have an Endo, OB/GYN, and laser hair removal place on speed dial.
It is really nice to know that others feel my pain, misery loves company.

Dx.: March 2008
TTC (seriously) since 2009
Meds:
Metformin 500mg
PCOS Symptoms:
No Cycles( unless forced by BCP)
Facial hair( well the hair is pretty much everywhere)
I have hairy forearms too. Never used to bother me until I waxed them once before Prom and LOVED the way my arms looked and felt. I guess I felt really feminine and smooth and just felt really good. After that I guess I kept on waxing them, but usually do it every 4 months or so as I don't really care if I have a bit of hair on them or not.
Ive never waxed my arms, just shaved them. Is it sore? Ive had basically everywhere waxed, just not my arms, im thinking it would be quite sore on the arms.
For me my legs feel more pain than my arms in waxing, so I usually find arms not tooooooo bad, but it depends on the waxer. Some of them are nice and not harsh, and some of them burnt me so it depends on them, and my comfort level with them as well.
I also get my face waxed, and I find my cheekbones most painful there, so I suppose for me arms aren't that bad. But it depends on the individual.
