Default How much does having a baby in NZ cost?

I'm here - or rather WE'RE here ... I'm pregnant!!!! I'm thrilled and can't really believe it (especially as so far it's fairly easy going with only sore breasts and some indigestion - 5 weeks along). This brings up some major questions for us though - do I have the baby here in UK or go home to NZ??? How much does having a baby in NZ cost? I have no idea how it all works over there. Can anyone help me please?

Congrats!

As far as I am aware, having a baby in NZ is more of less free!
GP visits are either free or subsidised for pregnant woman and from memory (last time I was at the docs reading the poster on the wall lol) its also free/subsidised for follow ups after birth? Specialist visits if you need them are free if you get a refferal from your GP.

I found this page with an indication of costs.
