I am not really clear on how much I am supposed to be taking. So how much are you taking? How did you determine your dosage? And have you noticed any differences since you started?

I am taking 240mg of Vitex each morning. I was all excited after the first week cuz AF FINALLY stopped (after 10 weeks) and I thought YiPPee! The vitex worked. But then AF started again 5 days later, so But, from what I have read, it may take months to notice changes, I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks Oohmercyme! Sorry about AF returning. She can be a real pain when she overstays her welcome, can't she?

I've been taking 500mg at night before bed for approximately 1 1/2 weeks now. Haven't noticed much yet...I've heard that it can take several months before it really kicks in.

I also recently started taking 500mg of Dong Quai at night before bed also.

I'm also interested in hearing how much other cysters are taking! I'm not 100% sure that I doing this right...I did some research on the Alternative Remedies board, and it sounds like the Vitex and the Dong Quai should help me with my cycles (or lack there of!)

Thompson's Vitex says to take one capsule 3 times a day, so thats what I do (well actually I've cut back to 2 now). Each capsule includes:

Chaste Tree (Vitex agnus castus) 150mg standardised extract,
0.5% agnuside.......................................... ............750mg.

NB: After taking just one tablet the night before, I got AF the very next day! And I hadn't had a period for over a year!
