My Mood: Points: 4,555.75 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,555.75 | How normal is this? Okay so I was fairly sure my LMP was July 5th, so I was expecting to be around 9 weeks and a few days pregnant right now. I had my first ultrasound today, and everything looked great, heart rate was 180, but the baby measured closer to 8 weeks. Is it normal with irregular periods for the due date not to match up with the last period, or is this something to be concerned about? I'm assuming it's normal considering I have no idea when I ovulate, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought...
I had a period 4/15, 5/19, spotting in June, and I think my last actual period started on 7/5 - if that helps any.

With my ds I hadn't had a period in 6 months when I got my bfp. The stupid nurse went by my lmp and was like "You are 6 months along and didn't know??" @@ I was like "Uh no, I've had many blood tests, home preg tests in there, I am no more than about 6 weeks along!" Some people are just dense! lol

My last LMP was 1/11/08 and I didn't get a BFP until 3/3/08 (although sore boobs for a couple weeks before that). Went to 1st doc appt thinking I was 8 weeks 4 days. Bad ultrasound (told eventual miscarriage) and waited 10 days. Long story short I wasn't 8 weeks 4 days, I was about 5 weeks 2 days. I actually didn't O until cd 36 or so. Everything is fine now it can just screw the doc up when trying to date preg.

We did IVF, so we know exactly what day the eggs fertilized and what day the embryo was transferred to my uterus. Based on those dates, I went in for a u/s believing I was 6week5day and the babies measured a full week ahead. The EDD was changed from 2/26/09 to 2/19/09 and they have been growing consistently based on that due date since. I have no idea where that week went, and with twins, coming several weeks before EDD is common anyway, so when people ask us when they're due, we just say end of January-ish.

For the first few weeks, our u/s technicians at the OB insisted that the baby was a little small because they were using LMP, which we knew was not accurate for a due date. But they wouldn't change it, and to this day they have my due date closer than it really should be.
With PCOS, you can get some crazy cycle patterns so LMP doesn't mean much at all! You will probably get a much more accurate EDD from the u/sounds and measurements.
