Default How often do you have bloodwork done??

I've been on metformin for about 3 months now, and go back for a follow up to the endo in 2 weeks. He did some selected labs after 6 weeks-total bust-all values were the same or worse than when i started, he did not recheck testosterone or fasting insulin though, both of which were very elevated. I've lost about 10 lbs and did have my first natural AF last week, first time in almost 2 years. How often does your endo or who ever you see for pcos management and met check your complete labs, and when did you notice significant changes?

My Endo does bloodwork on me every three months, which is how often I see him. I also have something else going on on top of the PCOS that he hasn't figured out yet so that may be why. He keeps checking my thyroid and adrenal gland. My insulin resistance is still higher than any he's ever seen and he's been working as an Endo since 1967. I've been on Met since 2001, but for the past two years I was prego and nursing so there has been a break. I noticed after being on it for about 6 months I got a period, but it wasn't every month. It was more like 3 times a year and they were really long, a month plus...I also lost weight, which was nice and I can't seem to do on my own without the Met. The other symptoms like excess hair etc have not changed. I thank Met for helping me to get prego, but the side effects for me were way too much to handle. Feeling as though I have morning sickness that never goes away isn't for me.

I also see the endo once every 3 months.

I had my initial appointment where he put me on met. Then had a follow up appointment 3 months later where he put me on spiro. (Blood tests were done after each visit) I am set to visit again in 3 months to see what's the next step.
