Just curious to ask about your experiences in terms of how ofter and how you need to have sex to get PG ?
I heard some different theories :
- Everyday and that you have to place a pillow below so your legs are in an upright position and gravity can help !!
- Every two days as if you do it everyday then the quality of sperms is not good, and there is no need to place any pillows to help sperms to swim !
- You have to stay lying in bed for at least 30 mins to help the swimmers !
- No need to stay in bed so long, if the mucus works well they should go up even if you are not lying down
- It is better if the husband drinks a lot of water before sex
- The woman needs to be aroused too, otherwise she will be too "dry" inside and sperms will not be able to move
- The best time of the day is by early morning ( quite complicated if we have to get up early to go to work !! )
And it goes on and on...
What is your experience ? Too many different advices can create chaos !! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Thanks ! |

My Mood: Points: 51,272.79 Bank: 31,580,828.60 Total Points: 31,632,101.39 | It can be confusing can't it! My dr. told us that no less than 36 hours apart and no more than 48 hours apart. We weren't finatic about it and did a few bd sessions here and there until we started getting fertility signs and then we followed dr. orders. So in theory you could bd early a.m. on one day and then the following evening. then skip a day and hit the next a.m. etc. It worked for us thankfully. of course this also supposes that dh has no swimmer issues. also I stopped jumping up right afterwards and running to the bathroom (but didn't put pillows under my hips all the time either). Good Luck. I hope you get that bfp soon!

Sperm can live 48 to 72 hours in a woman's reproductive tract and can fertilize an egg at any time during this period. This is why sexual intercourse every two to three days around the time of ovulation is adequate. However, the more sperm that enters the vagina, the better your chances of getting pregnant, so as long as you don't have any problems with male factor you could BD every day if you wanted to.
Leakage of semen after intercourse is completely normal. It's impossible to know how much stays in and how much leaks out, but it is recommended that you remain laying down for about 10 minutes after intercourse for optimal results. Gravity is helpful, so if you want to lie with a pillow under your butt for awhile, it can't hurt. It helps the semen pool at the opening of the cervix, so it's closer to where it needs to be. But elevating your hips isn't necessary to conceive.
Cervical mucus is always present, but its consistency changes throughout your cycle. Having fertile cervical mucus is key to getting pregnant. Arousal can help with lubrication during intercourse, but EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus) should already be present if you're ovulating, regardless of whether or not you're aroused. EWCM is thin and stretchy (like egg whites) and it aids the sperm in swimming through it. It's usually only present during the fertile stage of your cycle. But if you have little or no EWCM, lubricants like Pre-Seed are sperm friendly. That said, there's evidence that women are more likely to conceive if they achieve orgasm after their partner, because the cervix actually dips down and kind of scoops up the semen during orgasm. And if you're not aroused, you're missing the fun!
Time of day doesn't really matter. As long as the sperm gets inside the vagina, it doesn't matter what time it is.
Hope that helps a little! | |

My Mood: Points: 11,581.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,581.13 | My RE recommends every other day from CD 10 to + OPK and then 3 days in a row. My DH doesn't have sperm issues. I've also heard that sometimes doggy style is good to try to get the sperm put in a different location if regular BD isn't working, so last night I layed on my tummy with my butt in the air after BD -- lovely picture, right?!
