I started going to the doctor about my problems when I was 12 and finally got diagnosed when I was 15. They told me it wasn't that is wasn't rare for teens to have it, but that it was rare for teens to be diagnosed with it, because it is so difficult to diagnose and most teens don't want to go to the gyno.

yea when i was diagnosed most doctors didnt know whether or not to say i have pcos or not just because of the difficulty
I just had a lot of doctors (well, two, and one NP who was the one to diagnose me, plus a different NP) that didn't really know about PCOS, and I was too young and inexperienced to know anything myself. Wasn't until I found SC actually, that I figured out I was probably doing the wrong thing.

i was dx when i was 20. my periods were never regular but i thought nothing of it until i started talking to my gfs about it. my partner of the time made me see a gp, who happened to be his dad. i remember when he told me i had pcos and i would have problems having children i cried and cried. i was glad it was in front of a dr who i loved (im very close with his family)
23yrs old for me... i hadnt had my period for 2mths..thought for sure i was pregnant then when I finally got AF, thought for sure I was dying...lol...it was very bad and crampy. Went to the dr and he dx'd me after many a test as well as other things from my past that just put the puzzle together. BCP's and Glucophage for me after that.
