I'm curious when others started their period. I was only 9 years old and I had very heavy periods early on. I remember my mother pleading with my pediatrician about my periods being so heavy. My doctor just told her that it was "normal" when you first started your period. My mother knew better. She knew it wasn't right.
By the time the school nurse gave the girls in my class "the talk", I had my period for years. I remember thinking, "Where the hell was the talk when I needed it?"
I have one younger sister who was also 9 when she started her period. She doesn't have PCOS though. My poor sister was so afraid when she got her period that she hid it from my mother for a couple of months. She knew I was in a great deal of pain, and she didn't want any part of it.
Just wondering when others started. Thanks. |

I was 13. It was the very last day of 8th grade. My little sis who doesn't have pcos started 2 weeks before me, and she was only 11.
