Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. I was wondering if starting earlier had anything to do with PCOS. I'm amazed at all the holidays!

I'm really showing my age here, but I remember having to go to the nurse's office until probably age 13 when I needed a pad. Once in a while I had a stash hidden in my desk, but most of the time I went to the nurse's office. I was too young to bring a pocketbook (we didn't use backpacks back then) so I had to go to the nurse for my maxi pad with ONE paperclip! Why one paperclip?? This was way, WAY back in the belt days. I remember shoving the box under my shirt in case I walked by anyone on the way back to the girl's restroom. Oh the embarrassment when I met someone in the hall...especially a boy!

I'm am so glad the belt days were over before I turned 13, lol. I had been warned, and our teacher at school said our local hospitals STILL used them into the 1980s.

Oh my no....I'm so happy I missed this. Thanks heart...sorry that any of you had to deal with this. It just looks plain annoying.

Taking for PCOS:
1500mg Metformin, Saw Palmetto, B-complex, cinnamon, Biotin 5000 mcg, Zinc 50mg.
Taking for Allergies/Asthma:
Rytanan, Advair 250/50, Singulair

Can you imagine how bad it was before the belts? In my grandmother's time, belts were just a wish, lol. They just had clothes. I'm pretty sure if men also bled each month we would have had adhesive, disposable pads BEFORE we put a man on the moon.

Those belts things look scary, LOL. In my time they invented the "wings" on pads and that was very helpful for a teenager.
