Diagnosed at 24, when I finally had an ultrasound and they saw multiple cysts on my ovaries... but I'd had other symptoms for several years prior to that.

PCOS was actually mentioned when I was only 15 and skipping periods left and right. However, there wasn't too much out there at that point so I was put on the pill and sent on my way. Right before we started TTC #1, I mentioned (yet again) to my OBGYN about PCOS and that's when I was sent to RE and get the official diagnosis. It drives me nuts that it took that LONG - I asked every single doctor I went to about it and not one could tell me much.
SO happy when I found my PCOS specialist in 2006!!!

i have just been diagnosed, at 29. But I have had the symptoms for 3 years now. The doctors simply failed to diagnose it for so long. I used to bleed for 2-3 months at a time :-(
CrystalGem: I concur. My doctors simply failed to diagnose me as well. I’m on my cycle at least once a month. However, I regularly bleed for two weeks at a time.
