First of all - how can I get rid of my skin tags? I just hate them and I have a lot of them under my arms!

I have had several removed recently. My gp removed them. He numbed my neck then snipped and i think burned them off. They are ugly for a while then the fall off. Mine left a few ltiile scars that he said would eventually fade. I had this done in Sept. so far so good.

I have had skin tags removed twice, once a long time ago, at least 12-13 years ago. They got burned off with liquid nitrogen that time, turned dark and fell off after a while. At lot more grew back during and after I was pregnant (I was getting tons on my neck) so I went just over a year ago and had them taken off. This time a dermatology resident just snipped them off with a pair of surgical scissors. No anesthesia or anything. It didn't hurt, they just bled a little. No scars or anything. I am actually considering getting a pair or surgical scissors myself to do remove them on an as needed basis. I have had some regrowth (or new growth) since last year but it isn't bad enough yet to make me do anything about it.

Yeah, sorry to be gross... ha ha.. but I have been cutting mine off myself.

If you do them when they are small, they really don't hurt although it's BIZARRE to consider that you are cutting your FREAKING SKIN OFF! None have come back butt eh show up in different places...also...oddly, I used one of those natural deodorant stones/rocks and that made them fall off on their own! Crazy!

Good luck!

If they are big enough to tie floss around you can do that and they will fall off after a bit. Sounds weird but it works I just remove mine myself too. I've heard you can just clip them off too. The ones I've taken off haven't come back. Good luck

I actually had two on my eyelids and my dermatologist just cut them off, even without numbing the area, it pinched, but it was well worth it!!!

I had some removed from my inner thighs. The one kept getting caught on my underwear when I would pull them up and hurt like a booger.

My doc numbed them and used scissors to cut them off. The big one has kind of a stem at first but nothing after a little bit and no problems or re-growth.

I've had them before and thought they were zips and scratched and scratched them until they bled and finally feel off.

My doctor said if you have a lot of them you should go to someone that is use to taking a lot off though.

They're a pain. I had more since I had my son - almost 5 years ago.

Thanks everyone!

Catylou's mom - where did you buy the compound? It'd be worth it to try it since I have quite a few and they are under my arms.

I have been thinking about trying that since i saw a commercial some time ago, thanks for the info.

In the last few years mine have only been removed with painful accidental yanks from clothing, not exactly a great way to do it.

I have in the past tied a hair around them, but then you have to wait for the thing to drop off and I lack the patience for that.

i found it at the grocery store, i think it was with all the other wart removal products. you might need to do it twice on some skin tags if they are big. good luck.

I never thought of using compound w on skin tags...it makes so much sense! I'm going to go out and buy some tomorrow, I've been dying to get rid my skin tags.
