That really depends on your doctor. I know that some women have had to beg, plead, and argue to get their script, and I feel horrible for them. I was lucky and got mine w/o a problem. I went to the appt armed with info and ready to state my case. He had a copy of the u/s and the radiologist report, listened to my history and current problems, then said he is writing me a script for Met but to wait until my bw results come back to get it filled. Got the bw that day, results within a week, and the office called and told me to get the script filled. Looking at my results, they were pretty much in the 'normal' range. I hope you don't have a problem, but just incase, be prepared and come with as much information as possible. There's a lot of good info here that you can print out and show to the doc to prove you know what you're talking about. Good Luck!

Can't wait to start WW again and loose the other 15lbs I gained with the last pregnancy and the 30lbs I still needed to lose with the first one.

I would go armed with knowledge. Go to the FAQ thread and print up a bunch of the articles on met's success with PCOS. Nothins speaks to a dr better than numbers. Even really old school Dr's might allow you to try it on a trial basis.

The doc that diagnosed me did not put me on Met. When I did my research and saw that EVERYONE seems to be on it, I called her. She never returned my phone call and that was the 'sign' I needed to 'fire her.'
My new doc put me on it last week after I told her I wanted to get this under control and felt the med was something I needed to start.
