Without a positive IR test, acne, and facial hair, many Dr.'s question the PCO. Do you have the same problem with Dr.s???
| I have only seen one practice of Dr.'s (RE's). I told the RE that I have I don't have periods and that I have acne if I don't use prescription meds on my face, so he suspected PCOS, even though I have had no other symptoms. We immediately did an u/s, and to my surprise, I had a bunch of little cysts on each ovary! So, PCOS has been my only diagnosis. I have had successful ovulations with femara and clomid, so maybe the other dr's are on to something, since you grow follicles, but don't actually release them. Many people have multiple fertility issues, so maybe you have PCOS, and some other issue regarding egg release... I've heard of people who have a disorder where they don't release their eggs... don't know the name. have you tried a trigger shot to help the egg release?

It is funny that I had no problems conceiving my daughter and we conceived very quickly the 2nd time around but did have an early miscarriage. Ever since then (3 years ago) we have had problems. My DH and I are wondering if I do have PCO and hormonal problems. DH's test results came back and the nurse said that everything look fairly normal. We plan to meet with Dr. in two weeks to see if we should do IUI or IVF.

do you O on your own? that is a big sign of PCOS if you don't. Usually there is a hormonal issue, like I have dealt with acne, but metformin and face medication negate that issue. other people have the hair problem as their hormone issue. I would see an RE if you haven't already. It's hard to diagnose PCOS definitively, because there is such a wide range of symptoms. the name might be changed to polycystic ovarian spectrum disorder because of this. it's hard to find two people with pcos with the exact same symptoms. IVF is much more involved than an iui. Iui is just collecting sperm and putting it into your uterus through your cervix, so if you are not releasing eggs, don't know if that would help, except for your mild male factor. wish i could help you more!

My Mood: Points: 623.60 Bank: 1,086.75 Total Points: 1,710.35 | Ummm I am not thin but not overweight....err just on the upper end of my "range".
I weigh 140.2 lbs and I am 5' 5" my ideal weight is 127 lbs. Up until three months ago I have been 130 on the nose and then out of no where gained 15 lbs that's when I found out I had POCs. Well that and my AF is not regular and honestly never has been. I was "normal" shortly after my girls then slowly it's just gotten worse.
I just started working out on a regular cycle three weeks ago and I am down 5 lbs. I am working on not having to take meds to help me with POCs. I am reading a book called Magic Foods by Reader Digest and honestly I think this is the ticket to IR issues.

Here is what we have done...
1. OBGYN #1- couldn't discover what was wrong with me even after a Lap
2. RE #1-advised me I was too thin and that was my problem. Did one IUI.
3. ObGYN #2 dx me with PCOS after seeing all of my cycsts, tried 9 months of Follistim shots, two months of Clomid and ovarian drilling. Multiple ultrasounds showed that I was not ovulating.
4. RE #2 - Questions if I really have PCOS because I am so thin and don't have excess facial hair. Still working with her. My husbands tests came back pretty much normal. Will meet with RE again to discuss IUI with shots or straight to IVF. I have been doing MET for 3 months and started working out a month ago. We are hoping we may see signs of ovulations. Wish me luck. Can you believe this mess we have been through? Actually I am sure you can. My weight has been an issue for my whole life. I have these stick skinny legs and arms and now my weight is hitting my mid region. Met has helped.

I wish you luck. I have read too that diet is the key. Have you been taking any meds for you PCO? I am on Metformin and zoloft to help with the mood swings. I really wish I could kick these in the future as I never needed meds before my PCo symptoms.
