| Ladyinred... congrats on just getting married!
I am 5'7" and 125 #
I am a thin cyster with monthly cycles. Dx due to high testosterone, no ovulation and multiple cysts covering my right ovary during my last lap.

| oic. thank you. guess i need to get testosterone tested also. do u have any facial features related to elevated testosterone. sorry, i am all new here. i look quite feminine. no facial hairs, not even leg or arm hairs (never shave). i actually ovulate. just very long cycles. i never have problem with that since all my aunts are like that. i had a spontaneous pregnancy last year just two months after i and hubby reunite. we live separately for years due to his job relocation. then my amnio found chromosome 7 deletion. i had to abort at the 20w. that's a devastating experience. anyway, we are ttc-ing. however, my cycles are shortened. and even mense pattern changed with less blood flow and fewer days. when i had long cycles before, i always had seven day period. now i have 5 or 6 days. i thought something happened in my uterus during abortion. that's why i went c my doc and get fsh and lh tested. | I'm 5'9 and 130 lbs. I was diagnosed about two weeks ago. Over the last 2 years I lost 20 lbs via a generally low carb diet. I just do carbs for breakfast with fruit shakes and organic, no sugar added cereals. I started doing this diet because years ago I had systemic candida and only a strict no carb diet for long helped me with that issue. I haven't read any of the PCOS specific diets, but I imagine the Candida diet is likely similar.
For me, belly dance, yoga and stress help keep my weight within what I consider normal limits. I think I can burn 5 lbs just being annoyed with work deadlines. |

| Hi to everyone. I am new here-a friend told me about sc. I am 5'8" and weigh 122 lbs. I am having trouble controlling my cravings for sugars and carbs. I have been ttc for almost 2 years now. Have a prescription for clomid but am hesitant. I've always been wary of drugs. Has anyone had any negative side effects from using Clomid? |

| Hi, I was diagnosed about a month ago and have been on Met 1500mg for 2 weeks not. Not a huge fan of it. I am 5'8" and weigh 105. I have always had a high carb diet and not really worried about it. Do we have to watch carb intake on Met no matter what? I am not IR. I, obviously, am not attempting to lose any weight. |

| Littleangel- You and I are in the same boat. I am about 5'4 and weigh between 100 and 110 depending on what time of the month it is. I always eat, and folks comment on that all the time. I don't watch anything, eat carbs all the time. I have had a child and still went back down to my pre-pregnancy weight.

| I'm around 5'2 and weigh 100 pounds. I've been thin and petite all my life. Only got diagnosed around 1 month ago. I find it hard to gain weight also and don't watch carbs. I had ultrasounds and blood tests. My hormone levels came back normal but ultrasound discovered cysts on left and right ovaries. I get pelvic pain on the left side as well. Apart from the dull pain and bloating, I do not suffer from the other symptoms of PCOS. |

| Hey, Six - can you tell me what your estrogen level was? My doctor said mine was low and that it was low b/c of low body fat (I've started gaining weight hoping to bring it up, i'm now at 109, slowly up from 102, 5'4"). I didn't have it tested on magical day 3 or whatever, because I haven't had my period in over 8 months (it won't even be induced with provera). My e2 level was 32, which I think is in the normal range. Thanks!! |

| Thanks for your response, Six. I'm currently taking hormone replacements, the same stuff they give women in menopause - estrogen for 2 weeks, then provera and estrogen for 2 weeks. Even that hasn't brought on af. Also, six, I have been going to a TCM practioner - taking herbs, getting acupuncture - and I'm glad I'm doing it, but as I've said...my body is literally doing NOTHING.
Amanda - I generally just started eating more and exercising less. I still exercise (walk the dog for 45 minutes in the morning, yoga in the evenings twice a week, hiking once a week, and working out at the gym or running in the other evenings), but I do it at a lower intensity and never do cardio more than 30 minutes. I also started eating meat again after being a vegetarian for about 7 years. The hormone replacements have weight gain as a side effect, so i've added 2 lbs in the past month from them alone. I expect/plan to be up to 111 soon, which would put me up to a BMI of 19. I'm very comfortable around 110, so I don't think I want to gain more. But I bought one of those fancy scales that measures body fat, and I think I wasted my $ cause i'm not sure if it is right - at mostit says 17%. I read that 20-22% is where it's at, fertility-wise. |

| Dana- I never excerise, too lazy. LOL My metabolism is just sky high. I eat all types of food and hardly gain that much. Right now I am eating pumpkin pie. Mind you I also had cake, toaster strudle, brisket and rice (not all at once).

| I don't have a fast metabolism at all (my mom always said we'd be good in a famine), but I love to be active and I eat really well, which has made it easy to stay skinny. Only come to find out it back fired! I chalk up most of my weight gain to nuts and berger cookies. I'm from baltimore and these cookies are made there and my mom ships them to me - they're just thick flattened cupcakes as an excuse for eating fudge - YUM! But, if you have a hard time gaining weight, try taht weight gainer stuff - massive calories in a wee but delicious shake . |
