Points: 933.18 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 933.18 | I'm new to this board. I am 5'10" and 145 pounds. I have never struggled with weight problems and my figure is more pear shaped than the typical PCOS apple shape.
I am trying to cut out all refined sugar/flour, but I am frustrated because so much of the research and advice is for heavier people. I don't really want to lose weight. I just want my other symptoms to go away. I'm looking forward to getting to know those of you on here so that we can help each other! |

My Mood: Points: 638.46 Bank: 601.39 Total Points: 1,239.85 | I'm 5'4 and 130 pounds. I'm not overweight, but i could lose 10-15 and still be ok. I'm not fussed re losing weight, though. i just want to get regular periods w/o acne, excess hair blah, blah. basically as 88girl said: i want to get my symptoms under control.
I think i may be ir - have extremely high blood glucose levels, so i'm low-carbing and it's making me feel better (more awake), but i'm on meds so i wouldn't know if its made a difference to the pcos.

My weight was at it's all time worst for the 2 years after I had my son... i was 167lbs... I am now 135 and stand 5'7" I was 88lbs before I got pregnant with my oldest. I have a pretty high metabolism and I was 128 before this pregnancy!

Points: 548.32 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 548.32 | I'm very torn as to whether I'm "thin" or not. I can't say that I've struggled with weight my whole life, or that I'm significantly overweight, or even apple shaped. I was pretty active all through high school and weight about 125 lbs until junior year of college. Now, one year post graduation, I'm about 140 which puts me right on the line between normal and overweight in term of BMI. I don't think I *look* overweight but my butt & thighs are apparently packing some serious pounds.
ANYWAY! I'm glad that I'm not alone in that I don't look like the pictures in the pamphlets from the Dr's office. I don't fit the mold and that makes this journey just a little bit tougher!
Nice to "meet" you all. Can't wait to learn more and share some stories.

My Mood: Points: 86,432.10 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 86,432.10 | I'm 5'10" and 159 lbs. I'm down 5 lbs since starting Metformin. I'm still 20 lbs up from my heading-off-to-college weight, but that was 14 years ago. I, too, am pear shaped rather then traditional PCOS apple. Other people think I'm really thin, but they don't have to see me naked. I'm sure some of you can relate.
