I saw the losing my faith thread and my problems didnt seem to fit so I decided to start another.
I dont deni God exists and sustains us; my problem is I dont know which way to "view God". If that makes sense.
I was born Roman Catholic and I wont post my "problems" on this board because I dont want to offend the "devoted ones" nor do I wish to hear how "right" the church is.
What keeps you going back to our church? What keeps you faithful to your "view" of God.
Thanks.

Bible reading and prayer. If I want to know what I should think about God, I go to His written Word, or I ask Him directly knowing the Holy Spirit is there to teach and guide. John is an excellent Book to read first, followed by Romans, Proverbs and Genesis, then the other Gospels.

Thanks; Sad to say i have never read the Bible. but I think I will read it and go deep into prayer!
Maybe I will advertise for a bible reading partner.?.

In the past there was a Bible study thread. If you would like some suggestions on Bible study books, I can give you a few names. I think having a study/reading partner can be a good idea. Most religious things are kept to this board, but I'm sure the mods won't mind if you start a thread here, then put a link to such a thread over on Getting To Know You. If you want to just read Books straight through, say 1 to 3 chapters a day, I could do a reading plan with you.
I was born to a Roman Catholic (non-practicing) mother. But I couldn't reconcile the things that I did believe with what the church belived. I agree with Jash. Prayer and reading the bible will give you a clearer view of who God is.
And for a really quick look at who He is and how He feels about you, check out www.fathersloveletter.com and watch the video.
