hi,
To tell you the truth I dont think the cover up works very well at all. I shave every day and use make up to cover up and I think it is still obvious but that might be just me. I wish I could wax or something but it irritates my skin!!!! Are you thinking of shaving?
I use MAC concealer and foundation...They work ok...but they don't totally hide the skin discoloration I've gotten from shaving...I can still tell, but of course that could be because I know that I shave and have make up on tryin to hide the fact that I do so I kinda know where to look kwim?
so for the young ladies and women who shave, how well does you're cover up actually work?
I'm afraid I don't use any makeup, but I don't really have a problem -- once I've shaved I'm smooth and nothing shows. Nothing shows even when I can feel it beginning to become somewhat less smooth, so I feel I don't really need any makeup of any sort.
I use the mac concealer pods. It works ok but you do need to re-apply thru out the day. Doesnt totally cover it but does a good enough job.

the only thing with shaving.. and i didn't really take notice of this when i first did.. you need to shave at least everyday because i'll shave at like 9am.. and then by 6pm i have to shave again... but now that i don't go anywhere during the day until friday's and saturday's *yes i stay inside that long* i just let it grow until friday morning when i have to go to work... one thing i have noticed about the facial hair is that it does affect my social life.. i was invited to go to this intown rock concert of my friends.. and i turned it down because i knew we'd all be packed in a tight room and everyone would be able to see.. when i have conversations with people i don't even know they look at my neck and the sides of my face before they even look at my eyes.. and right then in there i just cut the conversation off and leave.

yeah well i was asking because my make up seems like it works but like everyone else who knows of the problem i can Always See It. and where i shave gets extremely dry so reapplying make foundation and powder makes it worse in a way. this has caused like severe paranoia, its terrible...and the social events..please i can't go if i haven't just shaved and i can't shave more than once a day, its too irritating. this is the most ridiculous women 'disease' that has ever been evolved since the human existence started.

Well, I like to pretend that it "covers up" something....and maybe it does: my shame perhaps? (lol) Seriously, I shave everyday and put on liquid foundation, then powder foundation, lip gloss, mascara, and eye shadow. With all that on, no one really focuses on the moustache and chin shadows beneath. And with long hair, the sideburns are hidden.

Yeah, it does suck! I guess I'm lucky in that my skin doesn't necessarily get irritated, rather I shave once a day everyday until I can't feel the stubble. Sometimes I get too rough with it and it may get irritated. But generally, it doesn't. Are you using an electric razor? That's what I use.

Oh my! I can definitely relate to that issue. I've always been a homebodied person anyway. I prefer cuddling with my bf. However, I do know what you mean. I'm a full-time college student and this semester (blessedly) I'm doing all classes online save one. And like you, I try to go a few days without shaving if possible until time to leave the house again, but I usually can't do it more than a day before I go mad. I have to shave. Like you said, if you shave in the morning, a few hours later the stubbles are taking over again. It's a constant battle. I feel very paranoid about the moustache and chin hairs more so than the sideburns. The acne really drives me insane as well because people will just zoom right in on the clusters. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

no old fashioned about it....shaving cream and guys razors...i used to use electric but it doesn't smooth it over completely, it has to be perfectly not a single stubble left on my face smooth.
i'll shave..but i can't get it smooth.. i still feel the roughness.. i've changed razors so many times.. i bought cheap ones at the dollar store and they worked for a while.. but then i soon realized that they don't last forever.. so i do need to get more

Get a Philips/Norelco rechargeable razor from their men's range -- easy to slip into a purse and shave in a washroom at any time. And completely non-irritant, as well. Only downside I've found is that you must shave again before the stubble gets longer than 1/8" maximum and better before it's 1/16" maximum if you're going to get a really good, close shave.
I don't use any concealer, just makeup. I use the L'oreal Infallible. It comes with a pump cap. It's very creamy and covers extremely well!
I mainly am trying to hide the irritaion and redness I get from shaving. I have very sensitive skin so shaving does a number on it. I do use Shave Secret oil that I found at Wal-Mart to shave. It helps a little, but it stinks like cloves! Anyone else ever use this?

If laser isn't an option, consider talking to your doctor about getting on a stronger anti-androgen medication. When I took flutamide, it was the only time the hair really slowed down and got fine enough to hide with make up. Spiro did nothing for me.
Note: anti-androgens cannot be used by women ttc
