Default How will I get prego after stopping BCP?

I'm currently taking Yaz and Metformin. I know birth control stops ovulation, but once I discontinue Yaz, won't all of the same issues start up again? I was diagnosed in July, but I know I've had it for years based on symptoms which just got worse when I was pregnant then miscarried last year. Is the point of BCP to allow the current ovarian cysts to go away without new ones developing? And how can I know if anything is improving if I'm not ovualting?? At my last appointment for a yearly check up, the doc said, "See you in a year", like she was done with me now that she's got me all medicated. Will I simply have to stop taking it in order to find out? I have changed my diet and am losing weight (20 lbs so far). I've read that it can take 3 months to a year for results, but how is one supposed to monitor progress so they know it's worthwhile to keep taking all these meds??

Hello- I can only speak for myself, but I never ovulated on my own after stopping BCP. As you will read on my signature, I have been taking fertiltiy medications for 1 year and have ovulated for only 6 months. If you haven't seen a RE when you are ready to TTC I think that would be recommended because my OBGYN had really no idea what to do besides offer my clomid and it didn't work for me. You need to work with someone who will monitor you in your cycle to see if you are responding. Met did wonders for me with weight loss though and I lost 60 lbs.
