Unhappy HPVand Pre-cancerous cells

So I was diagnosed with HPV recently and so i had to go in for a biopsy and they say i have severe displaysia which i guess is like the step before it develops into cancer. Anyway, so i am going in for this cone biopsy thing and I am so nervous. Not because of the procedure but i am ttc and they told me that after having this procedure i might not be able to carry a child. one more horrible thing gone wrong in my life. The past coming t bite me in the butt again. so depressing. I just dont know what to do anymore. I am devestated and defeated yet again. I just need some hope and some encouragment right now. Thanks for listening.

My fiance Steve passed away on 2-9-07 and my life and heart will forever be tortured. However I have been able to accept his death a little and I have moved forward in my life. He would want me to be happy. I am now with Rob and TTC.

The most important thing is to take care of yourself. You can get pregnant. It just maybe a little harder than before. A cousin of mine had the procedure done and 2 yeas later carried a healthy baby to full term. I hope that you feel better. The rest will fall into place.

What usually happens is that they remove a portion of your cervix and that in turn weekens it. So you will have a higher chance of having an incompetent cervix. The only good thing about this is that you know about it now so that when you do become pregnant you can be closely monitored for it. Many women were never warned about the possibilaty of them havin ic and so suffered late losses that were devastating to them. There are even some Drs. that will perform a cerclage even without the patient having had a loss just because they have had a procedure like yours and know the chances are higher they will have problems. Don't give up hun.

Hi,
I had a cone biopsy in April 2005 and then a large chunk of the affected part of my cervix cut out in June 2005 and got pregnant in August 2005! I carried my baby full term with no problems at all! You do have a higher chance of IC so just make sure you're monitored for that if you do fall pregnant. Good luck!

Smile thank you

Thank you,
That really does help put me at ease. I go in on the 18th so after it's done i will probably feel some of the pressure and nervousness about this come off of me. Thank you for the support and the encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Much love,
Alexis
